“I will tell my grandkids, I faced him”: Travis Head praises Jasprit Bumrah

Australian batter Travis Head has high praise for India’s star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah. After a historic IND vs AUS Perth Test, both teams are eager to lock horns again in the pink ball Test in Adelaide starting from 6th December. Bumrah showed his excellent bowling skills in the first Test match in Perth, which India won convincingly by 295 runs. Head, who was speaking to reporters on Monday. Head thinks Bumrah will be remembered as “one of the greatest fast bowlers to play the game.” He is proud to have faced such a challenging opponent and looks forward to telling his grandchildren about the experience.

Head acknowledged Bumrah’s talent by saying, “Jasprit will go down as probably one of the greatest fast bowlers to play the game.” Bumrah’s impressive match figures of 8/72 highlighted his consistency and exceptional form.

Reflecting on career

Head is eager to look back on his career and share stories about facing Bumrah with his grandchildren. “It’s gonna be nice to go back and look at your career and go tell the grandkids that you faced him,” he said, hoping for more encounters in the future.

Australia’s challenges with Bumrah’s bowling

Despite getting a half-century in Perth, Head’s fellow Australian batsmen like Steve Smith and Usman Khawaja struggled against Bumrah’s unique style. However, Head is certain that his teammates won’t seek his advice on facing Indian bowlers. “They are not coming to me for batting tips, that’s for sure,” he commented.

Australia and India will play a pink ball Test match in Adelaide. The Australian team, coming back after a short break, will face India at the same venue where they once bowled India out for 36. Head reminisced about that quick match, expressing hope for a good game this time.

No divide in the Australian Team

Head clarifies that there is no “divide” within the Australian team, amid rumours of a rift between their batting and bowling units. He emphasized the team’s unity, saying, “We hold high expectations for both sides (batting and bowling).”

Despite a poor performance in Perth, Head remains confident in the team’s ability to bounce back. “This team has dealt with adversity well,” he said, encouraging the team to learn from past challenges and focus on upcoming opportunities.
