Team India’s star pacer Jasprit Bumrah displayed a reverse-swing masterclass on Day 2 of the IND vs ENG 2nd Test in Vizag on Saturday. Bumrah registered his best Test figures on home soil to fizzle England’s Bazball play.
The 30-year-old picked up 6/45 as England were bundled out for 253 in reply to India’s 396 in the first innings. With his 10th five-wicket haul, Bumrah also became the quickest Indian pacer to complete 150 wickets in the longest format of the game.
After the day’s play Bumrah opened up about reaching the feat and revealed that he doesn’t look at the numbers.
“I try and avoid look at the numbers because what happens is when you look at numbers, you start building pressure on yourself and you don’t enjoy. And you start looking at milestones stones. As you know I wanted to play Test cricket and I made my debut in Cape Town. So, very happy”, Bumrah said after day’s play.
Bumrah also opened up about his magical spell where he bamboozled England’s explosive line-up with reverse swing.
“So usually what happens is that when you bowl with reverse swing, people try to bowl magical deliverys and sometimes people try to do a lot more magical delivery every other ball. So you have to be patient in that as well. You have to set the batsman. You have to have a plan. You have to use your delivery is wisely”, Bumrah added.
