Sarfaraz Khan had an impressive Test debut. The youngster hammered a fine fifty before an unfortunate run out saw him returning to the pavilion. Former India skipper Anil Kumble joked about having passed bad luck to the Mumbai star. On his Test debut, Kimble too was dismissed on a run out. Interestingly, it was Kumble himself who handed Sarfaraz his Test cap.
While Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja played some matured tons, fans in Rajkot were treated to some extraordinary batting by Sarfaraz Khan. The youngster had his dream come true when he made his debut after vying for his spot for years.
“Sarfaraz was dominating in that partnership. Jadeja, I thought had got into a shell, that sometimes creates a mindset where you are not clear about the decision making. And maybe that was one of the reasons and possibly I passed on my bad luck of getting run out on debut because I got run out on my debut. But at least he got 65 (Sarfaraz scored 62) more,” Anil Kumble said on Jio Cinema.
Sarfaraz Khan impressed everyone with his fine knock. He hammered 9 fours and 1 six to reach his fifty in 48 balls. Thus he became the joint second fastest Indian to slam fifty on Test debut. However, he was unfortunately dismissed after a bad judgement call for run by Ravindra Jadeja.
