Hyderabad Police deploy 3,000 officers to ensure security for SRH’s matches in IPL 2025

SRH will start their IPL 2025 campaign against Rajasthan Royals on March 23 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad.

The Hyderabad Police have put in place vast security measures for IPL 2025, starting from March 23 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium. Sunrisers Hyderabad, last year’s runners-up, will kick off their campaign against Rajasthan Royals on Sunday afternoon. The stadium will host nine matches this IPL season, including the first qualifier and the eliminator.

Security and convenience for fans

The stadium in Uppal, which has a seating capacity of 39,000 people, will see around 3,000 police officers ensuring safety, as stated by Rachakonda Commissioner of Police Sudheer Babu. “We have nine matches here with a stadium capacity of 39,000. We’ve deployed around 3,000 police officials, along with ‘She Teams’ for women’s safety. We’ve also asked the metro to operate late for fans’ convenience,” Sudheer Babu shared with ANI.

Sunrisers Hyderabad build on last Year’s success

Led by Pat Cummins, SRH reached the finals last year for the first time since 2018 but lost to Kolkata Knight Riders in Chennai. The team continues to trust Cummins as their leader this season.

Sunrisers retained key players like Cummins, Travis Head, Heinrich Klaasen, and Nitish Kumar Reddy. They’ve strengthened their batting with Ishan Kishan and Kamindu Mendis. In bowling, they’ve added Mohammed Shami, Harshal Patel, and Jaydev Unadkat, with Adam Zampa and Rahul Chahar leading their spin attack.

Upcoming matches

SRH will play their first two matches at home before heading to Visakhapatnam to face the Delhi Capitals. They will then challenge the defending champion Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens.
