During his highly entertaining knock of 83 runs, Dinesh Karthik smashed a record-breaking 108-meter six, which is now the longest maximum in the ongoing IPL 2024 season.
Chasing an improbable target of 288 runs, RCB were always going to be behind the required run rate.
While Faf du Plessis provided a solid foundation at the top with a fiery knock, it was Karthik’s late fireworks that truly ignited RCB’s chase. The wicket-keeper batsman continued his stellar form in IPL 2024, displaying exceptional power-hitting against the SRH bowlers.
Karthik’s monstrous six, the longest of the season so far, sailed over the deep mid-wicket boundary, even going over the roof of the stadium. It came in the 16th over, bowled by T. Natarajan. The ball was full on the pads that Karthik slammed for a lusty thump.
He has now surpassed the likes of Nicholas Pooran, Heinrich Klaasen, and Venkatesh Iyer, who hit a 106-meter blow in their IPL 2024 campaigns.

Dinesh Karthik’s 83 off 35 gave RCB fans something to cheer
SRH rewrote the record books for the highest IPL team total on Monday, putting up a staggering 287 runs against RCB. However, despite the daunting target, Dinesh Karthik emerged as the star of the show with a scintillating knock that left everyone awestruck.
The wicket-keeper displayed exceptional power-hitting, launching a brutal assault on the SRH bowling attack. He rained boundaries all over the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, smashing a mighty five fours and a brilliant seven sixes.
While RCB ultimately fell short by 25 runs, Karthik’s knock was a major positive for the team. His valiant effort ensured they weren’t completely outplayed. Instead, they would take confidence from their second innings.
