With Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) clinching the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, the seventeenth edition concluded successfully. In the two-month-long tournament, some players were at the peak of their form while others failed to find their stride. Despite franchises purchasing players based on their past performance and stats, some turned out to be costly disappointments. On the other hand, some players bought at low prices proved to be excellent investments for the season.
The auction saw teams shelling out significant amounts for their players. KKR spent Rs 24.75 crore on Mitchell Starc, while CSK paid Rs 14 crore for Daryl Mitchell. Additionally, uncapped Indian star Sameer Rizvi was sold to Chennai for an impressive Rs 8.4 crore.
