How many teams have confirmed their Captain for IPL 2025 so far

With Shreyas Iyer's appointment as Punjab Kings captain, see how many teams in total have announced their captain for IPL 2025 so far?

The IPL 2025 has been the centre of discussion recently, with several developments regarding the IPL start date and other important aspects. Once again, this cash-rich league is gaining attention. On January 12, in a dramatic fashion, Punjab Kings announced Shreyas Iyer as their captain. PBKS went all out to acquire Iyer this time, and with this announcement, they joined the likes of CSK, MI, RR, SRH, and possibly GT, who have already confirmed their captains for IPL 2025.

However, for Gujarat Titans, it will be interesting to see how things comes. Not long ago, GT posted an image featuring Rashid Khan’s artwork instead of leader Shubman Gill, sparking speculation about possible changes in their camp.

Apart from this, Chennai Super Kings have confirmed Ruturaj Gaikwad as their captain, and Mumbai Indians have announced that Hardik Pandya will lead them once again in IPL 2025. Sanju Samson is also set to handle the responsibilities for Rajasthan Royals, while Pat Cummins is gearing up for another strong season with Sunrisers Hyderabad.

All eyes are now on franchises like RCB, LSG, DC, and KKR to see what they will do, as each team has multiple captaincy candidates. Apart from RCB, where it looks like Virat Kohli will take charge once again, Lucknow Super Giants may go with Rishabh Pant, who is their, or rather say IPL’s, most expensive player. Even Venkatesh Iyer for KKR and KL Rahul or Axar Patel for Delhi Capitals seem to be in contention, making things interesting for IPL 2025.
