Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh reckons that India captain Rohit Sharma will play for two more years while Virat Kohli can play for the next five years. The former Indian spinner feels that Rohit can carry on for a couple of years more while fittest player Virat will be in the side for at least 5 years.

How long will Rohit Sharma & Virat Kohli play for?

Singh heaped praise on Virat Kohli’s fitness, going on to claim that he would beat a 19-year-old competing with him. He stated that Rohit and Virat should continue playing as they had a lot of cricket left in them.

Rohit can easily play for two more years. You never know with Virat Kohli’s fitness, you can see him competing for five years. He is probably the fittest guy in the team,” Harbhajan told PTI Videos in an exclusive interview.

‘Should be dropped’

The former Indian spinner minced no words about dropping players regardless of senior or junior if they weren’t fit. He further advocated the need for players to take part in red-ball cricket, adding that the experienced Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were needed in the format to nurture young players.

Selectors need to see, that if someone is not performing well, they should be dropped. Whether they are senior player or juniors. But as long as everyone is fit, they should be able to get selected in the team,” Harbhajan said.
