Jasprit Bumrah, a name that needs no introduction, is always known for his lethal deliveries that shake batters all the time. It’s rightly said that just as he excels on the field, he has also done amazingly well in his personal life. Bumrah, who got married to former model and sports presenter Sanjana Ganesan, both have been impressively successful. Recently, they once again made headlines when they were seen engaging in fun banter with each other after the India-Pakistan thriller in the T20 World Cup 2024. Accidental encounter
Jasprit Bumrah and Sanjana first met in the 2013 IPL final between CSK vs MI, which MI won under Rohit Sharma. Bumrah was part of that team. Sanjana, who was working as a sports presenter there, interviewed many people, including Bumrah, who was emerging onto the big cricket scene at that time. Apart from a few interactions, there wasn’t much to note initially, but these encounters were enough to spark a friendship.
‘Just friends’
As mentioned, those initial meetings were enough to start their friendship. That friendship lasted for many long years and began to grow more during the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup. Which Sanjana was hosting and Bumrah had already made his name at the international level. As he did wonders for the Indian team in that World Cup. During the 2019 World Cup, their friendship blossomed, and they started spending more time together. They enjoyed each other’s company, which laid the foundation for bigger things.

Just as the saying goes, the next step after friendship is dating, which they did for a long two years. They were often spotted together in cafes, on vacations, and at events. From that point onward, they made headlines due to their admiration for each other, and both the media and fans praised this duo.
Fairy tale wedding
And the day came, March 15, 2021. The country was under lockdown due to COVID-19. But the couple decided to hold hands forever as they organized their wedding in Goa with Sikh traditions. It was a very intimate and private ceremony attended by close family and friends. Both Bumrah and Sanjana’s outfits were designed by the notable fashion designer Sabyasachi. From haldi to sangeet, with all the rituals, the marriage took place.
Angad’s birth
On 4th September 2023, both Bumrah and Sanjana became parents as they welcomed their first child. Whom they named Angad, meaning ‘Warrior’. The couple announced the news on Instagram. Bumrah wrote, ‘Our little family has grown, and our hearts are fuller than we could ever imagine,’ capturing the essence of their new journey as parents.

As mentioned, they recently made headlines while celebrating India’s win. Bumrah was interviewed by his wife Sanjana, and they had a humorous exchange that the internet captured, showcasing their admiration for each other.
