Champions Trophy
Speaking of the Champions Trophy, which is a much smaller tournament compared to the ODI World Cup, as mentioned in the table, it features eight teams playing in a round-robin format, leading to the knockout stages. It is interesting to note that the tournament, which started in 1998, was announced by the ICC in 2013 to be the last edition.
However, in 2014, after tracking its popularity, they reversed the decision, and the Champions Trophy was played again in 2017 in England. Now, it is all set to take place in Pakistan, but only if the circumstances allow. There is a possibility that India’s matches might be shifted to the UAE or Sri Lanka, which means that, along with Pakistan, two more Asian countries may host the tournament.
