After a shaky start, team India made a stunning comeback in the IND vs AUS 1st Test, on the second day by bowling out the Australian team for just 104 at the Perth stadium on Saturday. This turnaround made India claw back into the game after being dismissed for 150 runs earlier on the first day.
During lunch, Hanuman Vihari shared his thoughts on India’s bowling performance and their slim lead. “I think it’s a good lead to have, you know. Especially since Australia would be chasing that target in the fourth innings, a 46-run lead would be handy,” he said. “I think it’s the best time to bat. If India can get through the next 2-3 sessions with the new ball, it would be very, very beneficial for us,” he added.
Praise for Jasprit Bumrah
Former cricketer Deep Dasgupta heaped praise on Jasprit Bumrah for his exceptional bowling effort. “Jasprit Bumrah is in fine form, and he is leading India amazingly as a captain. After being bowled out for 150, expectations were low, but one man who stepped up was definitely Bumrah. He was outstanding in his first spell, taking 5 wickets for just 30 runs in 18 overs. That was truly great,” Dasgupta observed.
Dasgupta further explained what makes Bumrah’s bowling so special. “He’s a magician. He can make the ball move in ways that are quite unnatural. While many bowlers rely on natural swing, Bumrah controls the ball exceptionally well, making it move away from right-handers. His wrist movement is just amazing,” he noted.
Bumrah is special
In the second innings against Australia, Bumrah took his 11th five-wicket haul, once again proving his importance. Hanuma Vihari showed some praise for Bumrah’s contribution to the team. “He is an asset to team India, and we are blessed to have a bowler like him. I am very sure that by the end of his career, Bumrah will have many more five-wicket hauls,” Vihari concluded.
