History unfolds at Wanderers as a woman gives birth & a couple gets engaged during SA vs PAK Pink Day ODI

History was made at the Wanderers Stadium during the Pink Day ODI as a woman gave birth to a baby boy. Adding to the joy, a couple got engaged amidst cheers from the crowd.

The 3rd ODI between South Africa and Pakistan might have been a dead rubber, but the iconic Pink ODI at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg turned into an unforgettable affair. While Pakistan had already sealed the series 2-0, this match became a celebration of life, love, and cricket.

Bull”ring” gives LIFE!

The day will be remembered not just for cricket but for two heartwarming moments that stole the spotlight. A baby boy was born at the stadium’s medical facility, prompting an emotional announcement on the scoreboard: “Congratulations, Mr and Mrs Rabeng, on the birth of your healthy son at Bullring.” It was a rare and touching moment, making the stadium a witness to life’s most precious milestone. It is something unheard of.

Adding to the magic, a spectator proposed to his girlfriend during the game. Going down on one knee, he presented a ring, and she joyfully accepted, sparking cheers and applause from the crowd. The romantic gesture perfectly echoed the vibrant atmosphere in Johannesburg.

Pakistan now 1st team to whitewash SA in SA

Pakistan secured a historic 36-run victory over South Africa in the third ODI at The Wanderers Stadium on December 23, becoming the first team to whitewash the Proteas in a bilateral ODI series on their home soil.

The win was powered by Saim Ayub’s second century of the series and debutant Sufyan Moqim’s remarkable 4-52 with the ball. Contributions from skipper Mohammad Rizwan (53) and Babar Azam (52) bolstered Pakistan’s total of 308-9.

South Africa’s chase faltered early as Naseem Shah and Shaheen Afridi dismissed key players. Sufyan Moqim shone by claiming crucial wickets, including Aiden Markram and Marco Jansen. Heinrich Klaasen’s blistering 81 off 43 balls kept hopes alive, but South Africa ultimately fell short, with Corbin Bosch remaining unbeaten on 40. Pakistan’s disciplined bowling, featuring Sufyan, Naseem, and Shaheen, sealed a milestone series triumph for the visitors.
