Former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) star Robin Uthappa has no doubts about MS Dhoni’s batting in the upcoming IPL 2024. However, the ex-India batter is afraid about Thala’s role behind the wicket with the gloves. After a year long gap, Dhoni will once again take the field (perhaps for the last time, perhaps not) on March 22 as CSK face RCB in the tournament opener.
Uthappa casts aspersions on ‘wicketkeeper’ MS Dhoni
“CSK would let him play even if he was on a wheelchair! Get off the wheelchair, bat, and then go back. But I don’t think the batting is the issue for him, I don’t think batting will ever be an issue for him,” Uthappa says on JioCinema.
“I think it’s the wicketkeeping. The knees are getting worn out and he loves keeping. So, because he won’t be able to stand there and add value, he’ll probably move on from the game than for any other reason,” he adds.
