All this happened, ahead of the 2nd session. When batters and fielding team came on the ground after the lunch, the umpires on the field didn’t start the play. And the reason was that the 3rd umpire was stuck in lift.
On the third day of the second Test in Melbourne, Pat Cummins showcased a stellar performance, claiming five wickets as Pakistan was dismissed for 264, trailing Australia by 54 runs. The visitors, resuming their first innings at 194-6, experienced a setback, losing five wickets for 70 runs in the final session on Wednesday.
After a 45-minute delay due to drizzle, Mohammad Rizwan and Jamal padded up. Rizwan contributed 42 runs before departing, while Jamal remained unbeaten with a valuable 33. Cummins emerged as the standout performer in the bowling attack, securing figures of 5-48, while Nathan Lyon ended with 4-73.
