Highest-ever T20 partnership: Arya and Badoni shatter world record in 286-run stand in DPL T20

The South Delhi Superstars, opting to bat first, saw a remarkable partnership between opener Priyansh Arya and captain Ayush Badoni. The duo put together a mammoth 286-run stand-off of 99 balls, marking the highest-ever partnership recorded in a T20 match.

South Delhi’s explosive batting performance

South Delhi Superstars dominated the first innings, amassing an incredible 308 runs in their allotted 20 overs. Priyan Arya led the charge, scoring a blazing 120 runs off just 50 balls. His innings featured an impressive 10 fours and 10 sixes, giving him a strike rate of 240. Not to be outdone, captain Ayush Badoni played an equally stunning innings, smashing 165 runs off 55 balls. Badoni’s explosive knock included 8 fours and 16 sixes, achieving an astonishing strike rate of 300.

Adding to the record-breaking performance, Priyan Arya achieved the rare feat of hitting six sixes in a single over, further highlighting the dominance of the South Delhi Superstars in this match.

Breaking previous T20 Partnership records

This partnership surpasses the previous highest T20 partnership record, set in a match between Japan and Chile on 15th February 2024. In that game, Japan’s L. Yamamoto-Lake and K. Kadowani-Fleming had a 258-run stand for the first wicket. The new record by Priyan Arya and Ayush Badoni has set a new benchmark in professional T20 cricket.
