Delhi Capitals batter Jake Fraser-McGurk opened up on his enjoyable relationship with senior Australian team member David Warner. The young player disclosed that the veteran batter has more Indian than Australian features.
Fraser-McGurk on fire, helped by Warner
In a recent episode of DC’s podcast, Fraser-McGurk and fellow teammate Tristan Stubbs discussed their experiences competing in the IPL 2024. They also discussed how Warner in particular has helped them adjust to the fast-paced nature of the competition.
Since making his debut for DC against LSG on April 12, when he struck a match-winning 55 off 35 balls, the 22-year-old Fraser-McGurk has been taking the ongoing IPL season by storm with his explosive batting abilities.

‘Warner one of the most unselfish people’
In his podcast interview, Fraser-McGurk talked about how Warner has been progressively supportive of him and how much of a help he was in getting ready for his first IPL season.
“He (David) is one of the most unselfish people I’ve ever met. Warner always has time for everyone. He wants to help you 24/7. Every hotel he’s always been like two rooms away from me. I just go into his room and have coffee every morning,” Fraser-McGurk said.
“He’s more Indian than Australian. That’s what I tell him. I say that. I say he’s 70% Indian, 30% Australian.” McGurk added.
Warner struggling in IPL 2024
Warner’s tenure with DC in the IPL 2024 has not been great, as evidenced by his meagre 167 runs in 7 games thus far. The injury suffered by the veteran batter has cost him his place in the DC lineup after a run of poor performances. Fraser-McGurk, along with Prithvi Shaw, is now the team’s opener. Warner, in spite of this, was picked for Australia’s T20 World Cup team in 2024, which would also be Warner’s final T20I tournament before he officially retires from all forms of cricket.
