Former England spinner Monty Panesar is mighty impressed with India’s spin wizard Ravichandran Ashwin ahead of the IND vs ENG Test series. Ashwin will play a crucial role in the series, with India having the home advantage. Ahead of the series, Panesar heaped praise on the off-spinner, noting that he was like application which would constantly update itself.
IND vs ENG: ‘Ashwin is like an app’
In an interview with Hindustan Times, Panesar heaped praise on Ashwin for his ability to adapt and bowl different deliveries. Calling the Indian spinner an ‘app’ who keeps updating every six months, the ex-England star said that he was ‘student’ when it comes to his bowling.
“He’s like an app, he keeps updating every six months! That’s what he has done through his career. I always find that I am a student when it comes to Ashwin’s bowling. I feel I am continually learning something new about his bowling. That’s the asset Ashwin is. He is a brilliant bowler,” Panesar said.
England will take on India in a grueling series which will put their players to test in the sub-continental conditions. The five-match series will start off with the 1st Test in Hyderabad from January 25.
