The bowler has performed exceptionally well during the IND vs ENG T20 series. Zaheer believes that the spinner has the ability to perform in all phases of the game. Varun who plays for KKR in IPL, made his debut in the 2021 T20 World Cup but was left out after an underwhelming performance. Varun is getting better

Zaheer also discussed Varun’s skillful use of variations, which have made his deliveries more effective over time. “He’s getting better and better. There’s a slight bit of drift also, so the variations are also coming into play nicely,” he said, indicating that these skills have helped Varun become a powerful player in the lineup. In a dramatic fifth T20I, Varun’s performance in the middle overs helped derail England’s batting lineup, while Abhishek Sharma’s incredible 135-run inning powered India to a massive score, eventually leading to a big win for Team India.

Zaheer’s advice to Varun

Zaheer emphasised the importance of Varun maintaining his current form, especially after witnessing his recent success rates in matches. “Everything is just falling into place. Wickets are backing the confidence. It’s just about keeping on this track now,” he advised Varun Chakravarthy for the coming tournaments.
