The India Cricket Team will begin their ICC Champions Trophy campaign by taking on Bangladesh. But the Men in Blue will be missing a star player in their ranks. Ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the tournament with back stress. Ahead of the IND vs PAK clash, Bangladeshi batter Mehidy Hasan Miraz is relieved that he won’t be facing Bumrah.
In a video posted by the ICC, Mehidy Hasan Miraz told Bumrah’s wide Sanjana Ganeshan, a sports presenter that Jasprit Bumrah is a dangerous bowler. He further claimed that he is happy that he doesn’t have to face him. But then, he questioned about the pacer’s injury.
Everyone respects him
Mehidy Hasan Miraz was full of praises and admiration for Bumrah. He claimed that every batter on the planet respects him. He then went on to reveal how Bumrah has dismissed him twice. He also emphasized that over the years, Bumrah has also improved massively.
“He is a very different bowler. And he is very dangerous. We are very happy (that he is not coming here). How is he now? Is he okay? Everybody respects him, every batter. He has dismissed me twice, once in a Test match in Kanpur. He has improved a lot,” the Bangladeshi batter said in a video posted by the ICC.
India begins their journey to the Champions Trophy on 20th February as they lock horns with Bangladesh. India will play all their matches in Dubai as they refused to travel to Pakistan who are the hosts of the tournament.
