After being left out of Pakistan’s squad for their four-match series against England and allowed to return to county cricket with Warwickshire, Hasan Ali’s chances of making the country’s T20 World Cup squad appear to be gone.
“The team management has decided to let Hasan Ali continue his commitments in county cricket,” the PCB said in a press release. “Initially, Hasan was selected as an injury cover for Haris Rauf,” the release added.
Hasan Ali’s forgettable return to T20 Cricket
Having played in the format just three times since the 2021 T20 World Cup, Hasan earned an unexpected call-up to Pakistan’s T20I lineup ahead of their most recent series against Ireland. However, he was dropped from the squad after recording 0 for 42 in three overs during the Clontarf series decider.

Pakistan have not yet revealed their preliminary T20 World Cup squad, but they have until this Saturday to provide the ICC with a final list of 15 players.
Hasan’s international recall caught Warwickshire off guard, but he will be added back to the team in time for Friday’s County Championship match at Emirates Old Trafford against Lancashire. He will remain with the team until the end of July and is scheduled to play in the T20 Blast, which begins next week.
