Harshit Rana & Varun Chakaravarthy to join KKR’s training camp for IPL 2025 on March 12

KKR will play the IPL 2025 opener against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru at their home ground, the Eden Gardens.

ICC Champions Trophy-bound players will join the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) training camp for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on March 12. The reigning champions started their preparations in Mumbai earlier today. Venkatesh Iyer, Rinku Singh, and Ramandeep Singh were among the players who attended the camp.

All the Indian players have joined KKR, but international players will link up just ten days before the IPL 2025 season starts. Four players who represent the Knights are playing in the ICC Champions Trophy. Harshit Rana and Varun Chakaravarthy from India, Rahmanullah Gurbaz from Afghanistan, and Spencer Johnson from Australia.

“The players who are not currently involved in domestic cricket are available and have joined us for this short pre-season camp. This is a normal routine for us every season. We will also have a camp in Kolkata from March 12 onwards, where we will have the international players available post the ICC Champions Trophy,” KKR head coach Chandrakant Pandit said.

As the defending champions, KKR will open the IPL 2025. They’ll play the tournament opener against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru at their home ground, the Eden Gardens. This means these international stars will have just 10 days to get themselves in the T20 groove.

“Our real preparation will start when the whole squad assembles, but this camp will help us get into a rhythm. We have our core group intact, which gives us confidence, and I am sure that with the players we have brought in (at the auction), our combinations will be very strong like last season.” Chandrakant Pandit added.
