Harshit Rana isn’t here to play nice. Just two matches into his career, the pacer’s ready to butt heads with one of Australia’s cricket team’s best batters, Marnus Labuschagne. The fast bowler in Delhi may remind some of Ishant Sharma. Both are of the same build, come from the same state, and show the same aggression. Although Harshit’s wicket column remained empty, his competitiveness tank was full.
‘Tireless’ Harshit Rana
Having bowled eight overs already and the first day’s play in Adelaide coming to an end, Harshit showed no sign of tiring. He came in, bowled around 140 kilometers consistently, and troubled a well-set Labuschagne. But wickets remained away from not just him but every Indian bowler after that early strike of Usman Khawaja.

Harshit Rana vs Marnus Labuschagne
Frustrated, Harshit bowled a sharp bowler to Marnus, who had no clue about it. The out-of-form batter then chirped, “Good pace.” Although the batter meant no malice, Harshit wasn’t happy with the comment and retorted, “You saw that?” It didn’t stop there; he bowled another good ball afterward and was in Marnus’ ear immediately.
Ultimately, Marnus chipped one to point and ran a single. Coming Harshit’s way, the pacer didn’t stop in his follow-through and seemed to have intentionally poked his elbow out. Luckily, there wasn’t a collision. Both would have been fined had that happened, but since it was Harshit who started it all, he might have even been handed demerit points. Harshit didn’t bowl after that; otherwise, we might have seen things escalate even further, and the umpires called stumps just three overs later.
