Just a couple of days ahead of the IPL 2024 Auction, Harshal Patel showcased his mark. Patel who was released by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on IPL 2024 Retention Day emerged as one of the joint highest wicket takers in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. The Haryana speedster guided his side to a 30-run win over Rajasthan in the finals by scalping 3 crucial wickets.
It came as a big surprise for cricket fans when Harshal Patel, the IPL 2021 Purple Cap winner was released by RCB. The veteran pacer will head into the IPL Auction on 19th December after having set his base price at the top slot.
Harshal Patel is expected to find a lot of takers given his current form. Despite not finding a place in RCB’s retained list he enters the auction with a base price of 2 crores. Patel is among three Indian capped players who head into the auction including the 333 players who are set to go under the hammer.
Harshal Patel has played a crucial role in Haryana’s victory in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. He boasts of having scalped 19 wickets (joint highest with Aniket Choudhary, Varun Chakravarthy and Siddharth Kaul). With a decent average of 20.47, Patel has bagged a fifer and a four-fer to help his cause.
It is safe to assume that Patel will go under the hammer for quite a decent price given teams will be ready to cash in on a player brimming with confidence and in red hot form.
