IND vs NZ: Harshal was picked to replace Washington Sundar in the third Twenty20 International between India and New Zealand on Tuesday, which ultimately ended in a tie with India winning the series 1-0. Tim Southee was the only victim of the pacer, who also conceded 28 runs in 3.4 overs. He was, however, passed over for the ODI series, which gets underway on Friday, November 25, and will likely take a flight back home.

After some impressive death bowling held the Kiwis to 160, India were in trouble as they lost their top three batters just three overs into the chase. India would have likely fallen short of the DLS par score but their captain Hardik Pandya (30* off 18) chose to get his eye in right away after arriving at the crease, especially with rain projections in the area.

After the Powerplay was over, Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav (13 off 10) batted fiercely to reach 58/3 on the scoreboard.  Fortunately for them, the DLS par score at the 9-Over stage was 75, and India’s scoreboard read exactly 75/4 after 9 Overs when heavy rain ensured that no more play could be conducted. As a result, there was a tie in the game.

Regarding the ODI series, the matches will be played in Auckland, Hamilton, and Christchurch from Friday, November 25, to Wednesday, November 30. The three matches will be part of the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League. With Hardik Pandya being rested for the ODI series Shikhar Dhawan will lead the Indian side with Risabh Pant acting as his deputy.
