Harry Brook claims ‘Virat Kohli Is the Greatest ever ODI cricketer now’

The best player of all time, in contrast to Sachin Tendulkar, is Virat Kohli, said top England batsman Harry Brook.

Harry Brook has claimed that Virat Kohli is currently the best ODI cricket player ever because of the manner he approaches & build his innings and gets runs in between the wickets. With his 50th ODI recently, Kohli surpassed Sachin Tendulkar to become the batter with the most tons in the history of the 50-over game.

Most people agree that Sachin Tendulkar is the best ODI batter of all time. With 15921 runs and whopping 49 hundreds, he is the greatest run scorer in the history of the 50-over format. But the best player of all time, in contrast to Sachin Tendulkar, is Virat Kohli, reckons top England batsman Harry Brook.

Incredible Virat Kohli: Harry Brook

It has not been possible for Harry Brook to leave his impact in one-day internationals. He was included in England’s squad for the ICC World Cup 2023, however, he was unable to provide evidence for his selection.

The national selectors, however, continue to believe in him and want him to be among the best batsmen in the 2027 ODI World Cup.

During the World Cup, he picked up a lot of knowledge from Heinrich Klaasen and Virat Kohli.

As per a social media post Harry Brook said “Kohli is the greatest ever ODI cricketer now. The way he runs in between the wickets – he is just the best in the world, you watch him construct his innings, some of the innings he played was ridiculous”. [The Telegraph]

Brook also said, “Virat Kohli is the greatest ever ODI cricketer now. The way he takes singles and doubles to construct his innings is magnificent. Some of his knocks in the World Cup were unbelievable,”

In the World Cup 2023 final, Australia soundly defeated India, ending Virat Kohli’s incredible season. Kohli broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record for most runs in a single World Cup edition with his 765 runs during the tournament. Virat Kohli overtook Tendulkar as the hitter with the most tons in the history of the 50-over game with his 50th ODI century against New Zealand in the semi-final.
