However, Brook was promoted up the order for the match against KKR, and he proved his worth in the opening slot. The 24-year-old started his innings with a bang, hitting three fours off the first over against Umesh Yadav. Despite the early loss of Mayank and Rahul Tripathi, Brook continued his onslaught and reached his half-century in just 32 deliveries during the 11th over of the game.

Brook went on to stitch an 82-run partnership with Aiden Markram, who scored a 26-ball half-century in the match. Brook eventually scored his maiden IPL century in the 19th over of the game, as SRH ended up putting a mammoth score of 228/4 on the board. Brook remained unbeaten on 100.
Notably, Brook, who was picked by SRH for a whopping 13.5 crores, had struggled in the first three matches, scoring only 13, 3, and 13, respectively. There were concerns over his place in the XI, but the SRH team management promoted him up the order and it worked.
