IND vs BAN: Harmanpreet Kaur has several records to her name in T20I cricket. However, she created a new unwanted and forgettable record against the Bangladeshi side in the second T20I of the ongoing three-match series on India’s Women’s Tour of Bangladesh. Skipper Harmanpreet had come into bat after the Bangladeshi spinners sent both of India’s openers (Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma) back into the hut within six balls. However, unlike her last match heroics, this time the skipper found herself walking back on the very first delivery she faced.
After her first ball duck, the batting all-rounder had created an unfortunate record for herself. Kaur overtook her vice-captain and opener Mandhana as the Indian player with the most ducks in T20I cricket.

Kaur has several records to her name in T20I cricket. She has played the most number of matches (153), which is not only a record for an Indian player but for anyone in the history of the game. She is in the top 5 run-getters of all time and is behind just Meg Lanning in terms of most capped captain. While Lanning stands at 100 games, Kaur is just two behind at 98 matches. However, this new record may irk the skipper even more if they end up losing the match and the series.
With their leader back in the pavilion, the Indian batters produced a shambolic performance on a difficult pitch. India ended up making just 95 runs, with Shafali Verma being the top scorer with 19 to her name. This poor show will serve as a good reminder of what the India side needs to work on, especially with the T20 World Cup next year, which is scheduled to take place in Bangladesh.
India’s Playing XI for the 2nd T20I: Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Harleen Deol, Harmanpreet Kaur (c), Yastika Bhatia (wk), Pooja Vastrakar, Deepti Sharma, Amanjot Kaur, Bareddy Anusha, Minnu Mani
