Hardik Pandya’s journey from a freak in the 2023 World Cup to winning the T20 World Cup has been nothing short of remarkable. The star all-rounder has endured a lot of criticism, trolling and booing en route to his tournament winning antics in the USA and the Caribbean islands. The star took to Instagram to share an image of his body transformation before and after his injury and wrote ‘hard work doesn’t go unnoticed’.
Hardik Pandya’s magical transformational journey
Hardik Pandya has been in the eye of the storm ever since he replaced Rohit Sharma as the Mumbai Indians skipper in December 2023. He was subjected to severe trolling on social media, with fans dragging his family into the picture as well.
It only intensified during IPL 2024 where he was booed in venues across India, including MI’s home ground – the Wankhede stadium. To make matters worse, Pandya’s Mumbai Indians put up a miserable show in the tournament, with the skipper himself looking rather out of touch in terms of batting, bowling and captaincy. While he claimed that he wasn’t affected by the outside noise, it wasn’t the case exactly.
However, Pandya redeemed himself at the biggest stage of them all – the T20 World Cup – and played a crucial role in the team’s journey to lifting the coveted trophy.
Apart from on-field controversies, Pandya’s personal life has also been under the scrutiny of the fans. Speculations over his marriage with Natasa Stankovic are all over the place, with the latter having not been seen with Pandya during both IPL 2024 and T20 World Cup. The silence of the couple on the matter has only fueled more rumours.
