Hardik Pandya will use Rohit Sharma’s ‘trophy-winning experience’ feels Zaheer Khan

Rohit is the only captain, other than MS Dhoni, to lift five IPL trophies as captain. The opener also has the second-most wins as skipper in the league's history.

Having a 5-time champion as your go-to man is something all captains wish they had. Luckily for Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya, he has Rohit Sharma by his side. Having led the franchise for a decade, he has the experience and wisdom to take on any challenge head-on.

Former Mumbai Indians fast bowler Zaheer Khan feels that Hardik Pandya is extremely lucky to have someone like Rohit by his side. Talking about the all-rounder’s first outing as skipper, while talking to Aakash Chopra during the innings break in the GT vs MI match, he said:

“Every player has a role in the team. With Rohit’s experience winning trophies, you can’t have a better player by your side. It’s him and MS Dhoni who have that experience. I’m sure Hardik will try to make full use of Rohit’s experience.

Rohit Sharma to be a guiding light for Hardik Pandya?

It seems like what Zaheer Khan was iterating was already in effect. Throughout the first inning, Rohit was trying to help Pandya. The two were seen talking multiple times about the field or bowling changes.

At one point, the duo had a lengthy discussion in which the senior pro, Rohit, took the initiative to shed some light on what needed to be done. By the time Rohit was done talking, Pandya was nodding in agreement, acknowledging the 5-time champion’s valuable advice.
