Hardik Pandya sends stern message, ask batters to put their hands up

India will look to seal the series when the two sides meet for the final T20I on Sunday, August 13.

Team India has made an incredible comeback in the 5-match IND vs WI T20 series. After being down 2-0, Hardik Pandya and Co. have levelled the series at 2-2 with two emphatic wins. However, the Indian skipper is still not pleased with the batters despite a comprehensive 9-wicket win in the 3rd T20I.

The series is on its last leg. The last two T20Is will take place in the USA on August 12 and 13.

Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal stitched a record 165-run opening stand to chase down a target of 179 runs in just 17 overs.

“Gill and Jaiswal were brilliant. There is no doubt over their skillset. They just needed to spend some time between the wickets. Going forward we have to take more responsibility as a batting group and support the bowlers. I’ve always believed bowlers win matches,” skipper Pandya said after the match, highlighting what Indian batters did wrong in the first two games.

Hardik expressed his jubilation after the team fought back to level the series. The Men in Blue now have a chance to seal it 3-2 when the two sides face off on Sunday, August 13, for the IND vs WI 5th and final T20I.

“We lost two games but in the first game it was our own errors, we were cruising and in the last four overs we slipped. We spoke about how these kinds of games show our character.

“The boys took it (defeats) in their stride. The two games (after the first two defeats) we played reflected that we pulled up our socks and played some good cricket,” he added.
