Hardik Pandya has become the number one ranked T20I all-rounder for the second time in his career while Tilak Varma is the number three ranked batter

India cricket team all-rounder Hardik Pandya has become the number one ranked T20I all-rounder for the second time in his career. Pandya jumped two places to the first spot following a successful series against South Africa. Meanwhile, Tilak Varma has jumped 69 spots to settle on the 3rd position in the rankings for batters following his epic performances, including his maiden hundred, in the IND vs SA T20I series.

Hardik Pandya becomes no.1 ranked T20I all-rounder

Hardik Pandya overtook England’s Liam Livingstone and Nepal’s Dipendra Airee to settle at the top position in the rankings. His 39-run knock in the 2nd T20I followed by a spectacular 1/8 spell in the 3rd T20I propelled him to the top spot. This is only the second instance when Pandya has topped the all-rounders rankings in his career.

Tilak Varma’s meteoric rise

India batter Tilak Varma jumped a mammoth 69 places to settle on the 3rd position in the rankings for T20I batters. Named as Player of the Series in the recently concluded IND vs SA T20I series, the Hyderabad batter smashed two centuries and amassed 280 runs in the series against the Proteas. He is now only behind Australia’s Travis Head and England’s Phil Salt. Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav has slipped down one spot to the fourth position.

In other notable demotions, Pakistan’s Babar Azam and skipper Mohammad Rizwan have slipped down by one spot each following the thrashing at the hands of Australia.

Arshdeep Singh storms into top 10 rankings for T20I bowlers

In the rankings for bowlers in T20Is, Adil Rashid and Wanindu Hasaranga continue to occupy the top two positions. Adam Zampa has jumped five spots to rise to number 3. Arshdeep Singh has stormed his way into the top ten and is currently on the 9th position after IND vs SA series. Meanwhile, former number one spinner Ravi Bishnoi has slipped down by one spot and is currently ranked number 8.
