It’s not the start Hardik Pandya would have wanted. Coming back to his old franchise, the Mumbai Indians, as their new skipper, the all-rounder has now lost two matches on the trot. To make matters worse, he himself hasn’t been firing and has been plagued with several injury concerns as well.
Jason Behrendroff and Dilshan Madushanka are ruled out of the IPL 2024, and questions over Suryakumar Yadav and Luke Wood’s fitness also pertain. After losing in what was true batters paradise in Hyderabad, it seems like the stars aren’t aligning. Former Indian player Mohammad Kaif has warned Hardik Pandya and the Mumbai Indians after their drubbing in Hyderabad.
Talking to X (formerly Twitter), Kaif warned that things could take a drastic turn very soon if they don’t get a win soon. He wrote:
“Nothing looks right for MI right now. They desperately need a win to change this trend or else mushkil season hoga – both for new captain Hardik and his team.”
