Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has reached Barbados and joined rest of the squad ahead of the IND vs WI ODI series starting from July 27. Notably, Sanju Samson, Kuldeep Yadav, Umran Malik, Yuzvendra Chahal and Suryakumar Yadav had already reached the Caribbean island on Thursday.
The players will have their own practice session in Barbados before Rohit Sharma and others join them after the 2nd Test.
Opportunity for Suryakumar Yadav to cement ODI spot
Suryakumar Yadav has become a key member of Team India in their T20 setup. However, the batter is yet to prove his mettle in the 50-over format. With the likes of Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson knocking the door, SKY will aim to pile runs against a weaker opponent like West Indies to cement his spot in ODIs.

Hardik & Gill to be rested for IND vs IRE T20Is
While Hardik is returning to international cricket after 2 months, reports have claimed that the BCCI is planning to give India’s T20 skipper a rest for the Ireland series.
Apart from Pandya, opener Shubman Gill is also reportedly set to be given a break from IND vs IRE T20Is starting August 18. The reason behind the break is said to be to manage their workload keeping in mind the upcoming Asia Cup and World Cup tournaments.
