Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Hardik Pandya has come under scrutiny for his limited bowling appearances in IPL 2024, sparking questions about a potential undisclosed injury. Former New Zealand fast bowler Simon Doull expressed his suspicions during a recent interview.
Doull pointed to Pandya’s inconsistent bowling patterns as a red flag. In the match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Pandya bowled just one over, conceding 13 runs before disappearing from the attack.
“You go out and make a statement by opening the bowling in-game no. 1, and suddenly, you are not required. He’s injured. I’m telling you there is something wrong with him. He is not admitting it. But there is something wrong with him for sure. That is my gut feeling,” Doull said while talking to Cricbuzz.

Pandya’s decision to limit his bowling has been a source of debate throughout the season. Earlier, when pressed about not bowling against Delhi Capitals, Pandya offered a cryptic “right time” explanation.
Pandya smoked 21* off 6 vs RCB
After receiving some flak over playing some calculative cricket, Hardik Pandya came out with all guns blazing in MI’s 7-wicket win over RCB. As MI pummeled 199 runs in just a matter of 15.3 overs, Pandya made a quick-fire cameo.
The MI skipper hammered his very first ball to a massive six over long-on. Pandya hit three lusty blows in total, striking at a handsome rate of 350.00.
