With Rohit Sharma retiring from T20Is after winning the T20 World Cup 2024, India are without a captain for the shortest format of the game. Hardik Pandya has been tipped to replace Rohit but no confirmation has come from BCCI yet. BCCI secretary Jay Shah opened up on India’s next permanent captain. However, Shah refused to give a name, claiming that the decision lies with the selection committee.
Jay Shah pushes ball to selectors’ court
“Captaincy will be decided by the selectors, and we will announce it after discussing with them. You asked about Hardik, there were lot of questions over his form but we and selectors showed faith in him and he proved himself,” Jay Shah said.
