Hanuma Vihari to make appearance on Ravichandran Ashwin’s show amid Andhra captaincy controversy

Earlier today, Vihari had vowed to never play for Andhra ever again after they removed him as their Ranji Trophy skipper.

The plot thickens! Amid the ongoing Andhra captaincy controversy, Hanuma Vihari will make a special appearance on Ravichandran Ashwin’s YouTube show. The two have had a strong bond ever since their historic partnership in Sydney in the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2020–21.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Ashwin, who is fresh off a memorable victory in Ranchi, hinted that he’ll be chatting with Hanuma Vihari on his YouTube video series, Kutty Stories. “Meeru ready, Unnara?” (Are you ready), he asked his fans.

Earlier today, Vihari revealed that he’s been sacked as Andhra’s Ranji Trophy captain. According to him, his act of scolding a 17th man, KN Prudhvi Raj, had caused the Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) to remove him as skipper. As it turns out, Prudhvi is a politician’s son, and his father had asked the ACA to sack Hanuma Vihari.

Following his revelation, Prudhvi put on an Instagram story that has since been deleted in which he called his former skipper a, ‘so-called champion”. Vihari hit back and posted a signed letter from his teammates, which claimed that they wanted him back as their skipper.
