GT vs PBKS, IPL 2025: Kagiso Rabada’s IPL nightmare continues, makes poor debut for Gujarat Titans

Kagiso Rabada's debut for Gujarat Titans disappoints; takes 1 for 41 in 4 overs against Punjab Kings.

Kagiso Rabada had a night to forget with the ball after an unimpressive debut for Gujarat Titans against his former team Punjab Kings on Tuesday. Rabada, one of South Africa’s greatest bowlers ever, finished with 1 for 41 off 4 overs in the GT vs PBKS match in IPL 2025.

Gujarat Titans splurged Rs 10.75 crore on Kagiso Rabada after an intense bidding war with Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians in the mega-auction in November.

Tough day at office

Rabada was taken to the cleaners by Shreyas Iyer, who hit his old Delhi Capitals teammate for a four and then flicked him for a six in the same over that he dismissed Prabhsimran Singh.

Kagiso Rabada, one of the best all-format fast bowlers in the world, debuted in the IPL back in 2017 for Delhi Capitals before moving to Punjab Kings for 3 seasons from 2022 to 2024.

In 2020, Rabada won the Purple Cap with 30 wickets as he played a starring role for Delhi Capitals who finished runners-up after losing the final to Mumbai Indians.

However, Rabada has been far from his best over the last two seasons, picking just 18 wickets from 17 matches.
