Gujarat Titans came close to defending 199 but fell short. Shubman Gill’s heroic 89 goes in vain. But it is Punjab Kings and Shahshank Singh who take the headlines with his gritty batting. Punjab Kings chased down a massive total to clinch a win by 3 wickets. Noor Ahmad too fared well but it was a day where PBKS was a tad better than GT.

Shubman Gill Leads the Charge!

Gujarat Titans skipper Shubman Gill lead the charge for his team’s attack. The destructive batter took the Punjab Kings bowlers for a toss. He batted at a brisk pace to remain unbeaten on 89 from just 46 balls. Not only did he open for his side, he batted till the end of the innings, slamming 6 fours and 4 sixes in his innings.

Shahshank Redemption for PBKS

What a knock! Shahshank Singh played a match winning knock to help PBKS clinch a crucial 3 wicket win vs GT. Shahshank remained unbeaten after hammering an unbeaten 61 run knock from 29 balls. He went at hammer and tongs to slam 6 fours and 4 sixes to help PBKS register their seconds win of the campaign.

Noor Ahmad Weaves Magic!

Noor Ahmad wove a magical spell for Gujarat Titans. The 19-year old spinner bowled brilliantly for GT scalping 2 wickets early on in the game. He was quick to dismiss the dangerous Jonny Bairstow and Prabhsimran Singh to turn the tide of the game for thee hosts. The youngster gave just 32 runs in his spell but fell short of helping his side win the game.

Most wickets vs an opponent in IPL

Umesh Yadav has been the nemesis for Punjab Kings. The Gujarat Titans pacer has the most wickets in IPL history against a single opponent. The ace speedster was quick to dispatch Shikhar Dhawan on his first delivery to bag 35 wickets against his favourite opponent. However, Umesh was hit hard by the PBKS batters as he went on to concede 35 runs in 3 overs.
