Rohit has appeared in the knockout stages 19 times, scoring 297 runs with an average of 16.50. He has breached the fifty-run mark on two occasions in the playoffs, with his highest score being 68 runs. His 297 runs have come at an uncharacteristically low strike rate of 108.79. His last nine innings have produced just 125 runs. However, the right-handed batter will look to change things at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
To note, Rohit has not been in good touch in this IPL as he has scored just two fifties. However, the right-handed batter has looked aggressive right from ball one. The MI skipper recently emphasized the fact that there’s no role for an anchor in a T20 game. “Once in a while, you will be in that position and then someone needs to anchor the innings and finish off to a good score. There is no role for an anchor anymore, guys are playing differently.” Rohit feels a change in mindset is mandatory.
