On the other hand, it has been some rough months for the speedster. Having missing quite a few series, Bumrah suffered from a stress fracture on his back and was ruled out for months. With surgery being the only available option, the pacer got his surgery in New Zealand. Bumrah is now back in India where he continues to recover and undergo rehabilitation before taking the field again.
Apart from missing the entire of IPL 2023, Bumrah is also not included in the India squad for the WTC Finals against Australia at the Oval. In all likelihood the Indian bowler is likely to take another 5-6 months before making his way back into the squad. It remains to be seen if Bumrah can recover in time for Asia Cup and the ICC World Cup 2023.
