The GT vs MI match, undoubtedly, has to be one of the most sought-after matches in IPL, and the 2024 is no different. With the likes of Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, and Shubman Gill in the fray from both the sides, the interest is more than expected, from the match. The venue for game was also perfect, with the encounter being played the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
After opting to bowl first, Mumbai restricted Gujarat to 168 runs. But during the first innings of the match, a small incident transpired, that momentarily managed to shift the focus from cricket. During the 15th over of the Gujarat innings, a dog invaded the pitch, when Hardik was bowling to David Miller.
The incident wasn’t anything major, as the dog soon went out of the playing area, without causing much disruption.
GT vs MI, IPL 2024
A heavily-depleted Mumbai side did well to restrict Gujarat to only 168/6. Despite getting starts, none of the batsmen could pick up pace and increase the scoring rate. A lot of credit for that goes to Jasprit Bumrah, who returned with figures of 3/14 in four overs. Gerald Coetzee was excellent too in his debut match, as he ended with 2/27 in his four overs.
Meanwhile, this was not the only interruption that took place on Sunday. In the first match between RR and LSG, the spider-cam wires snapped, that caused a delay in the match.
