The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast of light to moderate rainfall across the state on Friday too as per Indian Express. Rains poured in Ahmedabad and surrounding districts with temperatures dropping by 6 degrees Celsius. As per the weather department, the morning’s cyclonic circulation over southwest Rajasthan is expected to result in light to moderate rain with a thundershower on Friday in Ahmedabad.
As such rain could play spoilsport during the IPL 2023. While the forecast suggests it should not be enough to wash the game out, but there could be significant delays in the proceedings. The BCCI has organised an hour-long opening ceremony after 4 years, with the toss set to be held at 7:00 PM IST.

The Narendra Modi Stadium has a good drainage system and the match should be on at any stage unless it rains for hours at the venue. The conditions will change significantly with the moisture suiting the fast bowlers with the new ball. Spinners will find it hard to grip the wet ball.
