Gujarat Titans will be eyeing to continue on their winning momentum as they lock horns with Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday. GT have won two back-to-back games, having defeated both MI and RCB by huge margins. However, Gill and co. will not be taking hosts SRH lightly. GT need not make a lot of amends to their playing XI but they can afford to leave out spinner Rashid Khan, who is yet to start firing in the tournament.

Time to bench Rashid Khan?
The Afghanistan spinner is one of the most lethal bowlers in T20s and is the leading wicket-taker in the shortest format of the game. However, he has only managed to take one wicket from three games in IPL 2025 so far. He has also been very expensive. His figures in the last three matches are – 1/48, 0/10 and 0/54.
With Rashid not being able to create the impact that he is known for, it could be wise for GT to bench him for the game against SRH. They could instead give benched Washington Sundar an opportunity.
The all-rounder made his move to GT from SRH just before IPL 2025. Hence, his familiarity with the opposition’s strengths and the conditions in Hyderabad could come of better use to the team. Additionally, he can also contribute to GT’s batting, perhaps more effectively than Rashid Khan.
No changes to strong batting unit
GT’s batting unit has been the standout department for the side in IPL 2025. The ever-consistent Sai Sudharsan has provided the team with the perfect starts and is the leading run-scorer for GT so far, with knocks of 74, 63 and 49. Skipper Gill, his opening partner, will have to convert his starts into big scores, which he has failed to do so far.
Jos Buttler and Sherfane Rutherford will continue to be the key overseas players for GT.
Siraj, Kishore key to stopping SRH batters in their tracks
Siraj and Kishore have been in quite some form in IPL 2025. While the pacer will play his first IPL 2025 match at his hometown Hyderabad, the spinner will be looking to send SRH batters into a tizzy. Siraj has five wickets to his name so far and is riding on the back of an outstanding 3/19 spell against his former team RCB in Bengaluru.
Kishore has taken 6 wickets so far and has been GT’s best spinner, overshadowing Rashid Khan. Ishant Sharma is expected to come in as the impact player while Prasidh Krishna will support Siraj in the pace department.
