The verdict is out! Yuzvendra Chahal, the highest wicket-taker in Indian Premier League (IPL) history, does not merit a place in the greatest IPL XI. Not only him, but the second-highest run scorer in the league’s history, Shikhar Dhawan, has also been left out of the best team by the Star Sports panel of Dale Steyn, Tom Moody, Wasim Akram, and Matthew Hayden.
Other big exclusions include Chris Gayle, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Suryakumar Yadav. Gayle was snubbed while David Warner was picked, and Surya found himself out, with Rohit Sharma picked as the opener and Virat Kohli as the designated number 3. Bhuveneshwar was rightly left out of the playing XI with no space but was not even selected among the impact players.
