It’s a big match today at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, with Delhi Capitals taking on Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2025 on April 13. With a high-octane clash ahead, Delhi is gearing up to handle the large crowd turnout. From traffic updates to extended metro services.
To control the surge of fans heading to Arun Jaitley Stadium, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has rolled out special arrangements. On match days — April 13, 16, 27, 29, and May 11 — the metro will run 76 extra train trips to ensure smooth commuting.
Delhi Metro timing extended
The move involves pushing back the last metro train timings by 1 to 2 hours across all lines. This change is designed to ensure a smooth and convenient return for cricket fans after night matches, while also helping to reduce congestion for regular commuters.
“Given the expected spike in footfall at nearby stations post-match, Delhi Metro will run additional trips to facilitate smooth crowd management,” DMRC’s statement on their official social media account on April 11.
Delhi police security arrangement
Ahead of the much-anticipated clash between Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians on April 13, Delhi Police has issued a traffic advisory. With the match scheduled from 7:00 PM to 11:30 PM, heavy crowd movement is expected near the Feroz Shah Kotla Ground, particularly between 5:30 PM and midnight.
In order to minimize delays and manage the traffic, fans are advised to take public transportation, especially the metro, as traffic congestion is expected in the neighborhoods surrounding the stadium.
