Good news for CSK! Sri Lankan pacer Matheesha Pathirana reaches India

In his absences Bangladeshi pacer Mustafizur Rahman scalped a four-fer to guide CSK to victory

After missing Chennai Super King’s IPL 2024 Opener against RCB, Sri Lankan pacer Matheesha Pathirana has reached India. CSK began their title defence with a 6-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the opening encounter.

Taking to Twitter, Pathirana’s agent posted a picture of the youngster reaching the country. “Wanakkam #Chennai, He’s just landed in” he wrote on X.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) faced an initial setback when their pacer Matheesha Pathirana was sidelined due to injury before the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Pathirana’s match fitness was uncertain, casting doubts on CSK’s death bowling options. Despite regaining match fitness, Pathirana’s availability was hindered by a pending No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Sri Lanka.
