Glenn Phillips is a man with many talents. He’s a world-class finisher, bowls handy off-spin, can be your wicketkeeper, and is perhaps the best fielder in world cricket at the moment. You’d think that’s enough. For Phillips, it’s not. He’s willing to do all this and more.
Glenn Phillips turns ground staff
Before the first ball of the South Africa vs. New Zealand match was bowled at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Phillips turned into ground staff. Marco Jansen had the brand-new white ball in hand, and Will Young was on strike for the second ICC Champions Trophy semifinal.
But Young couldn’t settle. There was some issue with the sight screen. Jansen and Keshav Maharaj helped Phillips, who was in the dressing room, fix the issues. A black sheet covering the ICC Champions Trophy logo had moved a bit, troubling Young. So Phillips decided to take matters into his own hands.
