Interestingly, two of the five fastest World Cup tons have come from Glenn Maxwell’s bat. This 40-ball century also happens to be the 4th fastest ODI hundred by a batter and the Aussie broke his record of scoring the fastest century by an Australian.
This is the second time the record for the fastest 100 in the World Cup is being broken in the 2023 edition. Earlier, on October 7, Aiden Markram broke the record by battering Sri Lanka on the very same ground, setting the highest-ever total in ODI World CUp.
