SKY, Gambhir have long chat after first series win
This series marks the first win for both Gambhir and SKY as coach and captain respectively. Gambhir was named the head coach following the departure of Rahul Dravid. Meanwhile, the selectors named Surya as the new T20I skipper, snubbing Hardik Pandya.
“We spoke about this before this tournament – what brand of cricket we want to play. Even if it’s a shorter target or whatever target we are chasing, this is the template which we would like to go ahead with,” skipper Suryakumar Yadav said after winning the series.
