Gautam Gambhir effect? IPL-winning mentor is behind team’s impeccable form, claims KKR coach

KKR have won its first three games, and their batting has been especially strong, as they have scored 200 runs or more twice.

The defending champion Chennai Super Kings will be the Kolkata Knight Riders‘ next formidable opponent at the M.A Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The visitors will be hoping to extend their winning streak to four games. KKR have hardly put a foot wrong so far, winning all their matches. But what is the secret behind KKR’s impeccable form? According to assistant coach Abhishek Nayar, it is the Gautam Gambhir influence.

According to Nayar, Kolkata’s strong batting performance thus far has been largely attributed to their ability to execute aggressive intent, but they can also play tactically after evaluating the circumstances. KKR have won its first three games, and their batting has been especially strong, as they have scored 200 runs or more twice.

“There is no substitute for experience or a captain who has won two IPL championships with a franchise. Regardless as a mentor or on the field, having GG in the dugout makes a big difference and is a big boost for the players,” Nayar said.
